Not much to show this week....

I don't really have much to show this week in terms of stitching but, I did manage to put a facing onto the miniature quilt that I showed you I had started in this post.

The pattern was designed by Deborah O'Hare of Quilt Routes and I used a facing to finish it using a method that is taught by Philippa Naylor in her Quilter's Question Time online classes.

I was very pleased with the nice neat corners.

Until next time wishing you a very creative week!

A busy week....

It has been quite a busy week this week but I am pleased to say that I was able to finish the stitching on my version of 'Trio of Alliums' designed by Anne Brook of HanneMade.

Now I just need to get the back trimmed and finished off so that I can hang it somewhere!

Here are a couple of closer pictures.  (Hope they're not too blurry!)

Yesterday I was lucky enough to attend a regional day organised by the Quilt Guild I belong to.  It was the first time everyone had been able to meet up for some time and things were still very carefully monitored so that not too many people were there and so that all the guidelines were followed.

There were two guest speakers.  The first was a local textile artist called Alison Hulme.  I hadn't heard of her before so it was nice to hear her story and to be introduced to her work.

The second was a quilter that I had heard of before, Carolyn Forster and it was lovely to see her quilts at close range and to be able to ask her some questions.  Of course I couldn't resist buying a couple of her latest books to add to my collection!

I was also lucky enough to win a prize in the raffle.  My prize was a Quilter's Multi Mat which is going to be really useful to take to workshops as it has surfaces for cutting, designing, drawing and ironing!

All in all a lovely day!

Hope you have all had a lovely week.  Until next time....

Catching up with the news....

I haven't had a lot of time for sewing projects since I last posted as I have been away visiting family.  I stayed with my eldest daughter and was able to visit my Mum, my sister and my brother.  It was nice to catch up with them all.

Just before I left I had a busy weekend helping my daughter-in-law set up and man a stall at a local market.  She has a little Etsy shop called 'Macramé & More' selling Macramé items and from time to time she has an in person stall.  I've become the '& More' taking along a few of the items I have designed and stitched myself over the years.  It is lots of fun to participate.

While I was at the local market I found some wooden frames which I bought at a great price and which I think will be perfect for framing some of my little card designs. I wrote about this particular picture that I made here.

I also finished a trio of fabric boxes which I made using Lynette Anderson fabrics and a pattern by Christina Cameli.  I love how these turned out and they will be great in my sewing room.

Hope you're all enjoying some creative projects and I am looking forward to getting back in my sewing room this week.

Until next time.... 😊 xx
