A busy week....

It has been quite a busy week this week but I am pleased to say that I was able to finish the stitching on my version of 'Trio of Alliums' designed by Anne Brook of HanneMade.

Now I just need to get the back trimmed and finished off so that I can hang it somewhere!

Here are a couple of closer pictures.  (Hope they're not too blurry!)

Yesterday I was lucky enough to attend a regional day organised by the Quilt Guild I belong to.  It was the first time everyone had been able to meet up for some time and things were still very carefully monitored so that not too many people were there and so that all the guidelines were followed.

There were two guest speakers.  The first was a local textile artist called Alison Hulme.  I hadn't heard of her before so it was nice to hear her story and to be introduced to her work.

The second was a quilter that I had heard of before, Carolyn Forster and it was lovely to see her quilts at close range and to be able to ask her some questions.  Of course I couldn't resist buying a couple of her latest books to add to my collection!

I was also lucky enough to win a prize in the raffle.  My prize was a Quilter's Multi Mat which is going to be really useful to take to workshops as it has surfaces for cutting, designing, drawing and ironing!

All in all a lovely day!

Hope you have all had a lovely week.  Until next time....

  1. I love your alliums stitchery Christine. It is beautiful. Sound like you had a lovely time with your quilt guild. Lucky you winning the quilters multi mat. I made one of those many years ago. It is so handy to taking workshops and things. Have a lovely week. Hugs, Christine x

  2. The pictures aren't blurry at all - loved seeing the details up close. You have reason to be proud of that project! I might try doing some alliums on my next landscape.
Lucky indeed to be able to have a meeting with like-minded people and be inspired by the speakers. Nothing like that happening locally as it appears our quilt guild meetings are being put off for the rest of the year (which runs from Sept to June)
