Catching up with the news....

I haven't had a lot of time for sewing projects since I last posted as I have been away visiting family.  I stayed with my eldest daughter and was able to visit my Mum, my sister and my brother.  It was nice to catch up with them all.

Just before I left I had a busy weekend helping my daughter-in-law set up and man a stall at a local market.  She has a little Etsy shop called 'Macramé & More' selling Macramé items and from time to time she has an in person stall.  I've become the '& More' taking along a few of the items I have designed and stitched myself over the years.  It is lots of fun to participate.

While I was at the local market I found some wooden frames which I bought at a great price and which I think will be perfect for framing some of my little card designs. I wrote about this particular picture that I made here.

I also finished a trio of fabric boxes which I made using Lynette Anderson fabrics and a pattern by Christina Cameli.  I love how these turned out and they will be great in my sewing room.

Hope you're all enjoying some creative projects and I am looking forward to getting back in my sewing room this week.

Until next time.... 😊 xx

  1. How nice to be able to visit family, especially after the last 20 months or so of travel restrictions. Your lovely boxes will be very useful for storing supplies. I'm so glad I made some several years ago, even though they're much floppier than yours.

  2. Being able to visit with family, how I wish! Maybe at Christmas, with a whole lot of luck (and covid settling down). We're all vaccinated but still leery about getting together until our 7 year old grandie is safe. Love your fabric baskets - they look so pretty and I see lots of uses for them.

    1. It has been really lovely to see family. One of the most compelling reasons for moving back to the UK from Switzerland. Hugs Christine xx

  4. I see your daughter has inherited your creative gene. So good that you could catch up with your family and stay with your daughter. Cherished times. The frames are perfect for your cards. I used to collect frames like those at Op Shops for framing my stitcheries. Loooove the fabric baskets... I love Lynette's fabrics too. ( my EPP table topper is made with her fabrics). Hope you are back to enjoying life ..the new normal.
