My project for April is taken from an older book of Gail's called 'Baskets in Bloom'. It was published in 2009. My project from the book is a sweet little needle case pattern called 'One Red Flower'.
As Gail now has a fabric collection out called 'Baskets in Bloom' I just couldn't resist including some of the fabrics in the construction of my needle case.
The embroidery was a very simple design and stitched up nice and quickly and the construction of the needle case was very straight forward.
I added a piece of felt inside for pins and needles as well as the pockets.
To see what everyone else has made in the Sew-a-long this month pop over to visit Martina.

DeleteYou make such beautiful things with your stitching Christine. I love it inside and out. I am wondering what you use as the base for your stitchery ( What is the cream fabric?) Also wondering if you use some sort of stabilizer under the fabric? janita
ReplyDeleteThank you Janita! The cream fabric is just ordinary quilt fabric but, after I transfer the embroidery pattern across I do stabilise it with fine fusible interfacing before I stitch. :) x
