What will you be stitching this weekend?

This week I was hoping to get a bit more of the embroidery finished on the stitchery for 'My Stitching Things'.

This was one of the patterns I started at the wonderful Gail Pan workshop I attended earlier in September.  

However, I somehow got sidetracked into starting another of Gail's patterns (one which I also bought at the workshop) instead. This pattern is called 'Garden Blues' and there was a beautiful sample of it hanging on display at the workshop.  I just loved it!

 The appliques are wool which gives such a lovely finish to the quilt.

I particularly like the heart block which for some reason reminds me of my time spent in Switzerland.  A lot of Swiss designs have decorated hearts.


I have completed all the applique and the embroidery and have just started hand quilting it. Hopefully, I will get that done over the weekend and have a finished quilt to show you on Monday!!  Who knows, I may have time to work on the 'My Stitching Things' project too!!

    "My Stitching Things" is so pretty and looks like it would be fun to stitch. I really like the look of the wool appliques on the quilts. Since we're supposed to be having rain, rain and more rain this weekend, I'll be working on my Kaleidoscope by Sheena Rogers.

    It is a lovely pattern, I like the little heart too - it does have a Swiss feel to it. I hope you manage to finish it over the weekend xx

    One nice thing about wool is that you don't have to worry about the edges fraying overly much - plus which, it's pretty! Of course I like your new project because it's blue and it definitely would have sidetracked me too.

    What a gorgeous project! If I get far enough on Twilight Duel today, I might be able to work on my Red Hearts cross stitch this weekend. I will also be working on Kathy's under the sea block. :) Happy stitching!

    I love the wall hanging and can't wait to see your finished quilt. Do the wool pieces come with the pattern? I love the look they add.

    Love the wool effect, makes the work look softer and warmer somehow.
    I think your white daisy flowers look a bit edelweiss like so that could be the Swiss link!
