Adding the first stitches...

Don't misunderstand me, I love E-V-E-R-Y part of the quilt-making process from start to finish but, I do have to say that one of my very favourite moments when I am making a quilt which includes a variety of techniques, is when I add those first embroidery stitches.

I have been working on my 'Mrs Beasley's Sampler Quilt' this week.  I finished all the piecing and applique for this second block last week.  This week, I started on the embroidery.  I am loving how it looks.

This beautiful quilt design is by Leanne Beasley of Leanne's House.  I love how her designs always use a mixture of piecing, embroidery and applique. Just lovely!

  3. Hello! My only suggestion would be to make sure that you have a good quality stabliser and to hoop the section to be embroidered before you start. Hope this helps!
