A little bit of luck.....

I love to read other blogs and to try the tips shared and to enter the occasional giveaway and, over time, I have entered quite a number of blog competitions but I have never been lucky enough to win. That is, until recently! In the last couple of months I have been lucky enough to win several very nice blog giveaways.  The first was back in July when I won this lovely bundle of Autumnal batik fabrics from Mary Anne of Magpie's Mumblings.

Thank you Mary Anne.... they are going to be just perfect for an Autumn project over the coming weeks.

Then, I was delighted to be picked as the winner of this selection of pretty little gifts from a giveaway on Helen Philipps' blog.  Thank you Helen... they are beautiful! I love nautical items!

Finally, just in the last couple of weeks, I was chosen as a prize winner on Monika's blog where she was hosting a giveaway to celebrate her blog anniversary. I received this lovely bag that Monika had made. It is lovely... thank you Monika!

It is nice to have been lucky enough to win and, it made me think that maybe I should share some luck too. This post is my 300th blog post so I thought I would celebrate with a giveaway of my own.  The winner will receive this little bundle of goodies.....

Comprising a mug rug made with Tilda fabrics and embellished with a Gail Pan embroidery design; a packet of Tilda buttons; a notepad and 10 small scraps of Tilda fabric of various sizes and designs.

To win, all you you need to do is to leave me a comment telling me about the luckiest thing that has happened to you.

I am also lucky enough to be away for the weekend attending two Gail Pan workshops in the North of England (I believe this is Gail's first time in England) so I am very excited.  I will be back next week to tell you all about the workshops and to announce the winner of my giveaway! Good luck!!

This giveaway is now closed and the winner will be announced on Wednesday, 16th September 2015

I am a real fan of hers and she happens to live not that far from me
I also need to tell you I am in the USA if that makes a difference

  5. What a lovely give away Christine. Congrats on your milestone. Many years ago I filled out one of those lucky draw competition forms in a store just before Christmas. I was staggered when I won the prize - a fancy, expensive calculator that was of absolutely no use to me. LOL It couldn't have been a new sewing machine now could it, or some useful fabric?

  6. Congratulations on reaching your blog milestone. I once won the first prize Christmas hamper in a draw at my local supermarket. This is a lovely giveaway so thank you for the chance to win it.

  7. Congratulations on your 300th blog.
Oh this is a difficult one, I think the birth of my second son, a rhesus baby, is the luckiest. Luckily for me I live in a time when the problem is known, a time when people generously donate their blood (UK), a time when we have special care baby unit, a time where we have paediatricians who work all night to carry out transfusions, a time when we know that photo therapy works.

  8. 300 posts is pretty amazing - congrats. Miss H and I smiled when you wanted to know something lucky that had happened to us as we have just won a $50 voucher for the Fat Quarter Shop for our entries in the Pets on Quilts show! How cool is that! We are still smiling from ear to ear about that for sure.

  10. Sounds corny, but meeting my husband, Ivor...only problem was it was on my wedding day to someone else. Nothing happened but when my marriage fell apart a few years later, Ivor helped me pick up the pieces and 22 years on still very much in love,xx

  15. Oh some lovely wins there! Despite him leaving me for another, then dieing at only 40, meeting my husband was the luckiest thing to happen to me. For without him there wouldn't have been my 2 children and now 2 grandchildren.
Funny the way things turn out but there's mostly always a bright side to the down times thankfully.
Have fun at Gail's workshop. Lucky you!!

  16. Lovely wins, Christine. Lucky you getting to do a workshop with Gail. She is just lovely. You'll have the best time. I think I'm lucky because I have a wonderful husband and family who put up with all my quilting and sewing!

  17. Meeting my husband when we were both college students is top of my list. That led to our wonderful son and a lovely life. The most exciting drawing I've won was one I entered for my son when he was about 3 and he won a huge box of toys. He was SO excited.

  18. Your blog is lovely...here's hoping for many more milestones to celebrate! I purchased a serger at a bazaar for $5-was told it didn't work. I took her home, cleaned her up, oiled her, and voila! She serges perfectly! That's lucky!
I understand if your giveaway isn't available to post to the U.S...
    Have fun at the workshop!

  20. Oh my--you have been lucky! I think I have been lucky in so many things--my family, friends (in person and on-line) as well as in a few drawings! My favorite win was probably a Go-Baby from Moda, but I was also lucky to come across a discarded little cupboard along side the road that I turned into a side table in my livingroom. Have fun in your classes with Gail. A couple friends were lucky enough to do a class with Gail this spring in Minnesota and they had a wonderful day!

  21. Christine, don't enter me in the contest because shipping would be ridiculous. :-O

  22. Well, there you go - good things do happen in three's!! Glad that fabric finally got to you. Must have been on a REALLY slow boat. Now, to answer your question....the luckiest thing to happen to me is marrying my husband and the birth of our two sons and now our wonderful grandson.

  24. I should probably say something nice about my husband and children (about whom I could say lots of wonderful things), but the first thing that comes to mind is that I have gotten to go to Switzerland on vacation, all expenses paid, not only once, but 3 times! I feel very lucky to have gotten to do that. sarah@forrussia.org

  37. Well, I don't think of it as "lucky" but rather blest...and that was meeting my (now) husband at the "ripe old age" of 45 and marrying him just 8 months later...we'll be celebrating our 8th Anniversary in March. Thanks God! Thanks and God bless! ILuvTheEucharist @ aol.com

And the bag is just too cute! Your mug rug is darling! I hope you have (had?) an amazing time at the Gail Pan workshops. How fun!
