TAST Week Eighteen: Half Chevron Stitch

Week eighteen of the TAST Challenge hosted by Sharon Boggon at Pin Tangle  is half chevron stitch.  Sharon has posted a wonderful tutorial on how to work this stitch together with some beautiful variations and lovely examples for inspiration.

This was another new stitch for me although, it didn't feel too unfamiliar as it is a cross between a chevron stitch and a cretan stitch both of which I do know how to stitch.

It is a lovely stitch to work.  I used it as a filling stitch on my sampler and added quite a large section and I am pleased with how it looks.

As well as the excitement of learning another new stitch, I have also had some rather exciting post this week too.

Firstly, I received this lovely pattern which I won as a prize on a giveaway hosted by Karen of Moose Bay Muses.  I love reading Karen's blog as she creates such fabulous quilts which are all exquisitely pieced.  Thank you Karen, it is a beautiful pattern which I am going to enjoy!

Then, just this morning, I received the latest copy of Crazy Quilt Quarterly magazine which I had ordered last week.  It looks beautiful and I can't wait to find a few minutes to sit and read through it.... maybe this afternoon!

  1. I love the curve you created with your half chevron stitches! Congratulations on winning a pattern. How fun! You've reminded me that I need to spend more time with my copy of the CQ Quarterly. I think I have to try making one of the Christmas trees from the pattern by Kathy Shaw. I just love it! :) I do hope you are having a fantastic week!
