TAST Week Seventeen: Crossed Buttonhole Stitch

Week seventeen of the TAST Challenge hosted by Sharon Boggon at Pin Tangle  is crossed buttonhole stitch.  Sharon has posted a wonderful tutorial on how to work this stitch together with some variations and lovely examples for inspiration.

I had never worked this stitch before and was keen to learn how to work it.

I practised the stitch on my sampler in a red variegated silk thread and I love how it looks.

I can see that it is a stitch that I am going to use in future projects.  That is what is so wonderful about taking part in the TAST Challenge.... you are adding lots of new stitches to your embroidery repertoire.

  2. Looks pretty Christine. You have a large variety of thread to stitch with. Do you have a plan for your sampler? I think I need to get my granddaughter on to these stitches she loves to use needle and thread. We would both learn a thing or two along the way. Janita
