Overall it was a damp and foggy weekend in this area which meant it was just perfect for getting some stitching done, so I started on a new 'secret project' which I needed to get finished.
Here are a few sneaky shots of the fabrics I am using and the embroidery I have added.
I was delighted that the beautiful variegated Stef Francis silk thread combined so well with the fabrics I had chosen.
The project is nearly finished. I just have to stitch the binding to the back and the label in place.
It has been another damp, misty day here again today but I had an exciting delivery to cheer it up!
The latest beautiful book from Helen Philipps that I had on order arrived and it is lovely! Helen's pretty blog always brings some sunshine to the rainiest of days and I can't wait to read through this fabulous new book. I am not affiliated in any way, just a great admirer!
I am linking this post to the stitchery link up at Super Mom - No Cape! as well as to Design Board Monday over at Bits 'n Bobs (even though you can only see a few stitches!) Why not pop across and see who else has linked up and what they are working on!
And a very happy November to you! I can't wait to see what you're stitching with those sweet threads.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sunny! I was particularly pleased with this thread/fabric combination. It may be a little while until I am able to show the whole project! Christine x

DeleteI'm doing a secret project too (which makes it hard to come up with fodder for my blog posts!). I do hope you will be able to reveal yours when the time is right.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to resist showing more.... I'm not very good with secret projects! They will be revealed at a later date! Have a lovely week! Christine x
DeleteYes it is Nov.... ready or not. The stores have moved right into Christmas. Hang on to your hats the count down has begun! I have pulled out another LONG over due project to finish up this week. If I can finish up 3 of the same projects ( for my three daughters) in the next 3 weeks before Thanksgiving I will be over the moon happy. I think I will have a little personal party for myself : ) when I finish! They will be in shock that I have actually finished them so they can use them for Christmas decorating this year.
ReplyDeleteLooks like perhaps your little treasure has some Bonnie and Camille fabric in your secret project. Looking forward to the reveal.
Stay cozy. We are having one last autumn rendezvous of beautiful weather and then the weather is bound to turn cold.
Janita
Hello Janita! I hope you get your projects finished! You are right about the Bonnie and Camilly fabric! You will see more at a later date! Enjoy the rest of the sunshine before the cold arrives! Christine x
DeleteI am looking forward to seeing that finished project when you can post it. Enjoy your new book. It looks great.
ReplyDeleteThank you Cathie! It is a lovely book.... I can see I will have some fun making some of the projects! Christine x

ReplyDeleteViel Spaß mit deinem neuen geheimen Projekt. Apropro November, hier ist es auch eklig nebelig, ideal um die Nähmaschine rattern zu lassen :-)
Liebe Grüße
Steffi
Thank you Steffi! It sounds like you have the foggy weather too.... perfect for staying in and stitching!! Christine x
DeleteLucky you Christine-a delivery of Helen's new book! It is at the top of my Christmas list. I had a treat box ready and no trick or treaters! Apparently local children are too scared to come down here!! We don't have the fog though, it is breezier I think. Beautiful projects as always Christine xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Alison! It is a lovely new book! I just love Helen's designs and ideas! You are lucky not to have had the fog.... it probably is because you are nearer the coast! Have a lovely week! Christine x
DeleteThat variegated thread is so beautiful! I love your label too--very nice. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the secret--lol!
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen! I love using the variegated thread to stitch with and this skein was a particularly pretty colour combination. Christine x
DeleteHappy November!
ReplyDeleteWe had a very quiet Halloween and I was able to visit lots of blogs taking part in a Halloween blog hop.
That variegated thread matches your fabric beautifully. Love the label. Looking forward to seeing the great reveal!
Barbara xx
Thank you Barbara! I was very pleased with the thread/fabric combination! Have a lovely weekend! Christine x
DeleteThose variegated threads are so pretty! I can't wait to see to finished piece.
ReplyDeleteWe had a lot of trick or treaters here too which surprised us because it rained off and on. But they came prepared with umbrellas!
I love Helen Phillips blog too. It's like a beautiful, peaceful oasis on the net to visit. I may have to see if I can get that book or maybe put it on my Christmas wish list.
Thanks so much for linking up to last week's Stitchery Link Party and for the link back. Aloha hugs.
Thank you Sue both for your comment and for hosting the link up.... I really enjoy participating! Have a good week! Christine x
